$246.45

This Buddha figurine is a model of the Palm-size Statue Series. Although their sizes are small (around 20cm / 8in height), details are elaborated as high quality as medium and large models.

Model of these powerful statues are wooden Kongo Rikishi that are made in 13th centuries and designated a national treasure of Japan. This is the one of a pair Kongo Rikishi named “Agyo”. This statue well-expresses the moment to demonstrate overwhelming power as a guardian of Buddha. Their muscle-bound bodies are well expressed along with aging wooden texture. Right little finger and the toe of left leg of the statue are missing to replicate the original statue; it is impaired due to aging and accident.
