Model of this powerful statue is Aizen Myo-oh, which is enshrined at Saidai-ji Temple in Nara Pref. The statue had been hidden for a long time since 1247 A.D. when it was made by a master sculptor Zen-en. Because it had not been exposed, it still has excellent condition; original colorings are mostly remaining, especially scarlet body color catch the eyes.
Elaborated for more than 10 months, craftsmen have completely replicated every detail of the original statue. Take it to look over its facial expression of strong will and dignity!

Character of Aizen Myo-oh
Aizen Myo-oh, also called Ragaraja, believes sexual desire leads people into enlightenment. They are expressing extreme wrath and crimson colored body because of struggling to transform worldly lust into spiritual awakening. Although it was originally worshipped as nation protection and winning battles, it turned to be worshipped as fulfillment in love among people because of Aizen Myo-oh’s belief described at the beginning.
They put on the crown of lion motif and sit on lotus flower which is believed to the aggregate of ideas of enlightenment.
